About FastP.ai

Escaping the "Pilot Purgatory" of Industrial R&D.

The Problem: We Move Too Slow

In the consumer software world, "fast" means shipping code in hours. In the industrial world, "fast" often means a 3-year roadmap that gets cut in year two.

We are addicted to rigor at the expense of relevance. We spend millions on "feasibility studies" for products that the market has already moved past. We treat innovation like a relay race—passing batons between silos—when it needs to be a rugby scrum.

FastP.ai exists to challenge that status quo.

What is FastP?

FastP stands for Fast Path to Value. It is a methodology for Concept to Value. FastP means radically shortening the distance between a whiteboard sketch and a product that industrial customers are willing to pay for.

This publication explores the convergence of three forces that are rewriting the rules of industrial R&D:

  1. Generative AI: Using AI to compress the "fuzzy front end" of innovation by 10x.
  2. Open Innovation: Breaking down the "Not Invented Here" syndrome to leverage global ecosystems.
  3. Agile Hardware: Applying software iteration speeds to physical products and manufacturing processes.

Who Am I?

I am an R&D leader currently driving transformation inside a major industrial MNC.

I am not a theorist. I am in the trenches. I deal with the budget cuts, the cultural resistance, and the legacy systems every day. I built this site to document what actually works when you try to turn a giant ship.

Why Subscribe?

R&D transformation is lonely work. If you subscribe, you will get my weekly field notes on:

  • Tactical Frameworks: How to run an "AI Design Sprint" in a manufacturing context.
  • Case Studies: Real examples of moving from Concept to Value in record time.
  • Culture Hacks: How to convince a risk-averse board to bet on a prototype.
